Today, February 9, 2021, is the 18th annual Safer Internet Day, an initiative that began as the EU SafeBorders project and is now championed by the Insafe network. Safer Internet Day was started in 2004 to “raise awareness of emerging online issues and current concerns." This year’s theme is "Together for a better internet," so Capitol Tech wanted to join the 170 countries who celebrate Safer Internet Day around the world.

For what seems to be an entirely hands-on industry, it may appear odd that the 2021 Design & Construction Week, which takes place this week from February 9-12 will be virtual, but this multifaceted industry has incorporated digital services across careers. This event serves as a venue for construction and design professionals to share ideas about residential and commercial construction and design.

Machine learning (ML) is the capability of systems to automatically learn and improve from experience independently, without human intervention. Used with artificial intelligence, the capabilities of machine learning are endless.

February is commonly known as a month-long celebration of Black History Month, but February is also when Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month® is celebrated. CTE encompasses any field of study that prepares students for “high-wage, high-skill, high-demand careers” according to the Association for Career & Technical Education (ACTE).

As a student, you should be developing work ethic and etiquette skill sets to prepare you for the work environment.  Work ethics and etiquette show how motivated you are, how you handle responsibilities, and your level of professionalism. Work ethics are used in coordination with work etiquette and are traits all employers are looking for.

According to a 2019 study by Indeed, machine learning (ML) engineer ranked #1 on the job site’s best jobs, with ML growing 344% between 2015 and 2018. A total of nine jobs in the tech realm were included on the list, with full-stack developer ranking #3, robotics engineer ranking #11 and data scientist ranking #22. With tech jobs in demand around the world, countries often find themselves in competition for the highest skilled workforce.

Since 1976, February has been known as Black History Month–a month dedicated to celebrating the lives, heritage, and contributions of black people in America.

Today is Data Privacy Day, a day held each year on January 28th to remind individuals in the U.S. and Canada about the importance of keeping personal data safe.

Knowledge of real estate also allows facilities managers to improve resident retention, maintain and enhance property value, establish profitable rent structures, and otherwise successfully manage both small and large sites.

The global pandemic has resulted in more workers establishing remote offices from within their homes. As a result, both home internet usage and the risk of cybersecurity attacks have increased.
