Commencement is May 12 – event to be live-streamed on YouTube
May 11, 2018On Saturday (May 12), newly-graduating students of Capitol Technology University will walk across the stage to receive their diplomas, in formal recognition of their hard work and achievements. The ceremony, to be held on the Capitol campus in Laurel, Maryland starting at 9:45 am, will be streamed live on YouTube.
The class of 2018 includes more than 180 bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degree students, representing a broad range of business, computer science, engineering, and information technology fields.
They will be addressed by commencement speaker Marianne Meins, vice president for critical infrastructure strategy at Parsons. Meins, who has more than 25 years of experience in the national security arena, has led development of the company’s Converged Security Offering, which combines cybersecurity, integrated network solutions, and critical infrastructure protection.
Dr. Bradford L. Sims, Capitol’s eighth president, will lead the ceremony – his first since taking office. The formal investiture of Dr. Sims was held in April.
Commencement at Capitol is open to the public, and all alumni, friends and supporters of the university are invited to attend. This on-campus event will take place outside, regardless of weather. Information for students and their families can be found here. Reception to follow.
For those who would like to watch the event remotely, Capitol will be streaming the commencement proceedings via YouTube. The live link will be available on commencement day, and can be accessed via Capitol’s YouTube channel, Facebook page, and Twitter feed. The hashtag for the event is #capitoltech2018.
