The increasing adoption of connected technologies exposes the aviation industry to new types of risks. These risks can affect most aspects of the aviation infrastructure, including aircraft, airports, airspace, ground operations, and operational scheduling systems. Stronger relationships must be built across the aviation sector and those outside the industry to better manage aviation cybersecurity risk globally. Aviation and Cyber expert Col. Steve Luczynski will present current efforts to manage and mitigate cyber risk in the sprawling and highly critical aviation industry.

About the Presenter
Steve Luczynski
COL (USAF. Ret.), CISSP
Steve Luczynski joined the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) in August 2020 to lead the COVID Task Force, where he oversees support to Federal and State-level vaccine production, manufacturing, and distribution efforts. Before CISA, he was the Chief Information Security Officer for T-Rex Solutions, responsible for the security of corporate and customer data across all lines of business.
Steve spent 25 years in the U.S. Air Force (COL, retired)as a fighter pilot before entering the private sector in 2017. His final assignment was Deputy Director of Cyber Plans and Operations in the Office of the Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon. He worked closely with National Security Council staff & federal agency counterparts to protect U.S. interests by overseeing DoD initiatives that enabled military cyberspace operations. Steve is also the Board Chairman for the Aerospace Village, a 501(c)3 non-profit, promoting increased cooperation between government, industry, and hackers to sustain the public’s trust in secure air and space operations. He holds master’s degrees from the National Defense University, the Naval War College, and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
