The nation of Israel is perhaps the most security-conscious country in the world. Surrounded on all sides by nations who constantly oppose them, the Israel Defense Forces is one of the best trained and equipped armies in the world.
So what happened on October 7? How could defenses be so lax that an enemy force could easily penetrate Israeli defenses, kill more than 1,200 and take 240 hostages?
Failure to manage security risk has had disastrous results for Israel, and has thrown much of the Middle East into turmoil.
In the March webinar, noted global security expert Dr. Joshua Sinai, we will look at assessing risk management in global security. Dr. Sinai will use two case studies: The attack on Israel by Hamas, and the raising threat of COVID returning and impacting global security for all countries.
Over a 35-year career Dr. Sinai has researched security threats and his work has supported the Library of Congress, the FBI, the Department of Defense, and the Department of Homeland Security, among others. His book, “Active Shooter: A Handbook on Prevention” is a national best-seller on public safety and has published more than 50 research articles on active shooter prevention, counterterrorism and global security.
The 60-minute webinar concludes with a moderated live question-and-answer period.
Capitol Technology University offers the webinar as a complimentary informational service. This webinar offers a Certificate of Attendance.
