Kimberly Mentzell
Kimberly is currently teaching at Frederick Community College and the Frederick County Career and Technology Center (CTC) High School in Frederick, Maryland. She has also recently accepted a position with Capitol Technology University. Her individual classes include cybersecurity, networking, Linux, web development, programming and hardware/software. Most of her classes lead to industry certifications through CompTIA and Cisco. She holds the following active certifications: CCNA-Cyber Operations, CCNA-Routing and Switching, A+, Network+, Security+, and CCAI. Currently, she is working on her third master’s degree in Cybersecurity at UMGC. In addition to teaching, Kimberly is the founding and current advisor of the nationally-ranked CTC Cyber Team, and a member of the Frederick County Public Schools Technology Review Committee. She is a department leader at CTC, as well as the STEM coordinator. Kimberly also serves on the FCC Curriculum Committee, and continually develops cybersecurity, networking, Linux, web development, and programming curriculum for both high school and college courses, as well as the Maryland Center for Computing Education. She is also a member of Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS) and Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA), and an active attendee and/or speaker at many local cybersecurity conferences and events.
