Ethan W. Givens

Mr. Givens served as a United States Marine for 24 years. During that time, much of his career was focused on National to Tactical integration of Digital Network Intelligence (DNI) and Information Assurance (IA). In 1997, Mr. Givens served as an All-Source Intelligence analyst in the Information Operations Technology Center (IOTC), where he developed intelligence in support of the development of Computer Network Attack (CNA) capabilities. In the 2000, Mr. Givens served as a subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Marine Corps in the areas of cyber training and the development tactical DNI tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs).

Beginning in 2003, as an operator, team leader and assistant mission director for the NSA Red Team, Mr. Givens conducted and led several network vulnerability assessments to improve the security posture of Department of Defense (DoD) networks. During this time, Mr. Givens also helped develop the training and certification requirements for Red Team operators. While still assigned to the NSA Red Team, Mr. Givens deployed in support Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF), where he led a team of Marines who provided the tactical DNI capability for the Marine Corps Radio Battalion. In 2010 Mr. Givens’ last tour on active duty, he served as the Senior Enlisted Advisor (SEA) to the commander, in all areas of cyber operations and training. He also served as the USMC SME for the integration of cyber effects in tactical exercises.

Currently Dr. Givens is a Division Chief in the National Cryptologic School, College of Cyber. His division supports cyber training provided to the internal workforce and to United States Cyber Command.

Degrees, Certifications and Licenses

Ethan holds a Bachelor's Degree from Excelsior College and Master's and Doctoral Degrees from Capitol Technology University. Ethan also holds CISSP and GCIH certifications.
