Innovation and Leadership Institute Publishes Third Book of Series

Capitol College’s Innovation and Leadership Institute recently published the third installment of its current three-part book series. Titled “Discussions of Leadership Theory and Practice,” the work was edited by Helen Barker, dean, and Michael G. Gibbs, vice president for advancement.

The book details several models of leadership and the reasoning behind their implementation. Other topics discussed include: the relationship between leader and follower, transformational leadership practices, academic leadership, and peer leadership, among others.

“Our book supports the ILI’s goals of contributing to the ongoing academic discussion of best practices in the emerging field of innovative leadership,” Gibbs said. “The book examines both leadership theory and practice, and it is our goal for this book to foster creative, new leadership ideas.”
