Professor of Practice at Capitol Technology University, Ron Martin, will be a featured speaker at several upcoming engagements currently scheduled for Fall 2024 through Spring 2025. His expertise spans Critical Infrastructure, Industrial Control System Security, Identity, Credential, and Access Management, and Artificial Intelligence – the latter of which will be the focus of his presentations this October through March with his abstract: Executive Order (EO) 14110 The Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence.
On Thursday, Oct 10, Dr. Martin will be speaking at the Louisiana Cyber Security and Technology Summit hosted at the Clark Williams Innovation Center on ULM's Campus. This must-attend conference is hosted by the Monroe Chamber of Commerce and brings together business and technology professionals in a day of cyber-focused presentations. Dr. Martin will present during the Education & Technology panel, discussing his abstract on Executive Order 14110.
On Thursday, November 14, Dr. Martin will be speaking at the 8th Annual Security and Risk Management Symposium hosted at the Doubletree by Hilton Greentree, Pittsburgh. This event will focus on criminal activities, cyber and physical security threats in our region and globally, physical and cybersecurity countermeasures to include risk management strategies, best practices, availability of different and emerging tools and resources, and insight on the protection of critical infrastructure assets – all while building organizational resilience.
Intended for a very broad audience within both the private and public sectors, this conference garners interest from Engineers, Physical and Cybersecurity Professionals, Utilities, Emergency Management, Law Enforcement, Business Continuity/Organizational Resilience Professionals, Educators, VOAD’s, and those responsible for protecting our Nation’s Critical Infrastructure through cyber and physical security initiatives.
As a very important topic, Dr. Martin has presented his abstract internationally, discussing artificial intelligence through the lens of the U.S. Federal Government and Executive Order 14110. As part of his presentation, Dr. Martin states that the U.S. Federal Government has outlined an approach to implementing AI in this Executive Order, which aims to ensure the safe, secure, and trustworthy development and use of this evolving technology. It also mandated the Executive Branch to complete 100 actions in 270 days, resulting in notable reports and initiatives in action to date.
This past summer, Dr. Martin spoke for several virtual and overseas engagements, including the Sub-Saharan Africa Security Conference (SASCON) 2024, an ASIS event in Nairobi, Kenya, which is a crucial platform for the discussion of how Africa can better harness innovation for a tech-forward continent. Dr. Martin is a former member of the ASIS International Standards & Guidelines Commission, as well as a current Fulbright Scholar, and participates in several events for technology awareness and education across the globe. He maintains professional relationships with a diverse mix of organizations for knowledge-sharing and partnering for success.

On March 11-13, he will be attending an expo for the Critical Infrastructure Protection & Resilience North America (CIPRNA) on Houston, TX for a panel discussion on IT / OT Threats, presenting his abstract titled: Critical Infrastructure Adoption of Zero-Trust Protection. This expo will spotlight the 16 sectors of critical infrastructure and new federal initiatives impacting these sectors. It intends to bring together leading stakeholders from industry, operators, agencies and governments to collaborate on securing North America.
Additionally, he will be featured during as a CIPRNA-Single Presentation speaker on March 12 for the session: Cybersecurity and AI - Best Practice and Minimum Standards with his abstract: A Comparative Analysis of the Blueprint for an AI Bill of Rights and Executive Order 14110.
