Capitol College announced today that it has named two new members to its Board of Trustees, Steven Johnson and Curtis Levinson.
“I am most pleased to welcome Curtis and Steven to our board,” Dr. Michael T. Wood, president, said. “They each bring a rich background and expertise in fields of business and government for which we educate current and future professionals. They both demonstrate an acute interest in, and support for, the kinds of higher education that we provide. I am confident they will add value to our board and to our students.”
Levinson is the United States cyber defense advisor to NATO and has over 25 years of focused experience in cybersecurity and information assurance. He is additionally a highly experienced risk assessor and technology architect specializing in all phases of the cybersecurity and counter-terrorism process, in a wide variety of environments. He has advised two sitting Presidents of the United States, two Chairmen of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Chief Justice of the United States on issues of Cyber Security and Enterprise Technology.
Levinson is a graduate of American University in Washington, DC and the London School of Economics in London, England. He has also completed post graduate course-work at the National War College, Columbia University, and the Wharton School of Business.
Johnson is the senior advisor of corporate development at NeuStar Inc., and has a demonstrated track record of identifying key market opportunities, managing development and implementation, marketing and sales of services targeted to meet these opportunities, and operating all aspects of a complex business in a cost-effective and profitable manner. He has unique knowledge of telecommunications markets, services, technology, sales, and operations, which combined with management vision and leadership, provides a strong basis for success in diverse markets.
Johnson earned his M.A. in economics from George Washington University and his B.A. in economics from the University of New Hampshire. He has also held high-ranking positions at MCI Telecommunications, Satellite Business Systems Marketing, The National Academy of Sciences and The Federal Communications Commission.
