National Engineers Week was established in 1951 by the National Society of Professional Engineers to promote interest in, and national awareness of the importance of engineering and technology fields. According to the NSPE website:
“Engineers Week--the only event of its kind--is a time to:
- Celebrate how engineers make a difference in our world
- Increase public dialogue about the need for engineers
- Bring engineering to life for kids, educators, and parents
More than a week-long event, Engineers Week is a year-round commitment to making a difference.”
Capitol Technology University is proud to participate in the celebration as our on-campus engineering groups come together for a week of fun hands-on activities. Hosted by our branch of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and Student Life, on campus groups that plan to participate include: our branches of SWE, oSTEM (Out in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and NSBE (the National Society of Black Engineers), the Capitol Robotics Team, the Cyber Lab and two of our competitive cyber teams (COWASP and Signal-9), Astronautical Engineering teams CBEC and RockSat, our student drone experts on the UAS (Unmanned and Autonomous Systems) team, and the Student Life Activities Board (SLAB).
