Laurel, MD. – May 5, 2021 – Capitol Technology University is pleased to announce that Dr. William (Bill) Butler has won the SC Media Leadership Award for Outstanding Educator at the 2021 SC Awards. The announcement was made online Monday, May 3, 2021 as part of SC Media’s 2021 SC Awards coverage.
“I am truly blessed to be selected for this award from such an outstanding group of educators in the leadership category. This year with COVID-19 has been truly challenging for the nation, our families, students, faculty, and employers. My fellow finalists all worked extra hard this year to make sure that our students did not experience the “knowledge gap” or a “lost year” that they could not afford during the pandemic. Cap Tech has answered the call to deliver excellent hands-on cybersecurity education for over 20 years and this individual award actually recognizes excellence in our students, faculty, staff, alumni and our leadership as a whole,” said Butler of his win.
Now in its 25th year, 2021’s SC Awards were the most competitive yet, with a record 579 entries. The individuals, programs and teams selected as winners in the Leadership Award categories are run through a rigorous judging process that includes testimonials, industry assessments and additional research. Winners in the Leadership Award categories were hand-picked by the SC Media editorial staff.
