Capitol Technology University First in Maryland to Offer Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence
Laurel, MD – August 21, 2024 – Capitol Technology University is proud to announce a groundbreaking addition to its academic offerings, the Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence (AI), making it the first university in Maryland to provide an opportunity to explore this field of study at the bachelor's level. This innovative program is open to students of all educational backgrounds, especially those with an interest in computer and data science or intending to pursue a career in AI. Capitol Tech is currently accepting applications for the Fall 2024-2025 year and encourages students to attend a virtual or on-campus open house event to discover why the university stands as a leader in AI education and research.
In response to the recent surge in popularity and use of AI technology and the increasing demand for skilled tech professionals in the evolving workplace, Capitol Tech has developed a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in this dynamic field. The Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence covers a range of topics including machine learning, neural networks, natural language processing, robotics, and most importantly, ethical considerations in AI. Students also have exclusive access to becoming members of the university’s new AI Center of Excellence (AICE), which is dedicated to advancing the frontiers of AI research. With an advisory board of top leaders in the AI industry including Capitol Tech’s Chair of Computer and Data Science, Dr. Najam Hassan, members of AICE learn, network, and explore the world of AI from a unique, collaborative perspective.
