The CSWW works in partnership with leading cyber industries such as the United Cybersecurity Alliance, and recognizes finalists of other cyber awards given throughout the year, including Inteligenca’s Cybersecurity Woman of the Year (CSWY) award. The CSWY event held on August 8th honored exceptional women in the cybersecurity industry during the Black Hat Conference, a well-known security event for leaders in the infosec community. Winners included Capitol Tech’s Dr. Nikki Robinson, who received the award for Cybersecurity Woman Influencer of the Year 2023.
Inteligenca notes that the CSWW award further “celebrates the exceptional achievements of a woman who has demonstrated exemplary leadership, innovation, and impact in the field of cybersecurity. The winner will serve as an inspiration to future generations of women in technology, setting a new standard of excellence. In addition, 20 women will be awarded a letter of recognition by the British Royal Marines.” Capitol Technology University is honored to see two of our own cyber leaders as finalists for this distinguished award.
Our university received Inteligenca’s Educator Ally of the Year (AYA) in 2021, a title that recognizes our efforts to support women in cyber and educate the technology community on gender equality issues in this field. Capitol Tech is a leading STEM institution that works with both local and international faculty and industry partners to provide quality education and opportunities in top technology fields to our students worldwide. As part of the university’s allyship, Capitol Tech has developed more programs to support women in their education and career pursuits, including our new Center for Women in Cyber (CWC) which hosts leadership webinars and mentorship opportunities for emerging cyber professionals. Over the last 25 years, Capitol Tech has graduated over 1,000 women who have pursued careers in the STEM fields of engineering, computer science, cybersecurity, and more.
