Uzoma Chidiebere Nwachukwu joins Capitol Technology University as an adjunct professor in the Cybersecurity department, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to academic instruction and research in cybersecurity. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics/Geophysics from Imo State University, a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering and Science from Johns Hopkins University, and a Master of Science in Cybersecurity Management and Policy from the University of Maryland Global Campus. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Cyberpsychology at Capitol Technology University, expected to be completed by December2024.

Before joining Capitol Technology University, Uzoma held several notable positions in cybersecurity. As an Information Security Officer (Consultant) at Connected Science (ConnSci) Inc., he pioneered the cybersecurity department, providing vital training and developing and implementing annual audit programs based on the state of Florida's Cybersecurity Act. His contributions were pivotal in developing Florida's first-ever Cyber investigations program, where he worked with his team to provide an audit questionnaire for information technology assessment in the incident response, recovery, and reporting, annual assessment. Officials of the Florida State University requested these questionnaires from the office of the Chief Inspector General of Florida to be utilized in teaching cybersecurity incidents and forensics curriculum at Florida State University.

Uzoma's industry experience includes his role as a Senior Security Analyst at Granicus, where he provided Assessment and Authorization (A&A) support, ensuring compliance with various security and privacy controls. His expertise in developing System Security Plans (SSP) and related security documentation has been instrumental in maintaining the integrity of internal systems against cybersecurity threats.

At Noblis Inc., Uzoma served as a Cybersecurity Architect, leading programs for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and championing the design and implementation of fourth-party risk assessment. His leadership extended to the role of Task Force Lead for Community Outreach in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), where he developed a framework and sustainability plan for Noblis Vision 2025.

Uzoma is a Certified Information Systems Auditor with over ten years of experience in risk management and information security. He holds several certifications, including CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), underscoring his commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cybersecurity expertise.

In his current role as an adjunct professor, Uzoma teaches critical infrastructure at the 200-level, conducts laboratory work on Zero-Trust architecture, and develops a test bed for application testing. His dedication to improving capabilities through teaching and managing lab data loss prevention applications is a testament to his commitment to fostering a secure digital future.

In addition to his professional and academic endeavors, Uzoma is an active member of IEEE, where he designed the social media CONOPS for the US Government Community of Interest (USGCOI) initiative. He is also a member of CompTIA, ISACA, and ISSA, further demonstrating his engagement with the cybersecurity community.
