Dr. Steven A. Harrison is an Adjunct Professor and Dissertation Chair with Capitol Technology University in Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity. Dr. Harrison has a Doctor of Science (DSc) degree in Cybersecurity with a GPA of 4.0. He is also a current Strategic Studies/Command Staff School graduate student with the Army War College. Dr. Harrison has a rich wealth of experience from over 38 years with the US federal government as a computer Scientist. Dr. Harrison worked with the US DoD Joint AI Center (JAIC). He founded the DoD Intelligence Community (IC) Ontology Working Group promoting AI interoperability through the use of best ontological practices. Dr. Harrison also was cochair of the federal Augmenting Intelligence using Machines (AIM) initiative and oversaw development of an Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) framework in AI best practices.

Dr. Harrison was the leader and chairman of an AI standards working group with the Advanced Technology Academic Research Center (ATARC). He conducted, promoted, and lead both US national and international AI standards in Knowledge Engineering and Ontology. Dr. Harrison also participated in White House meetings and national forums on federal AI policies, potential regulations, and standards. He also was a DoD AI leader for the US government in the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Dr. Steven A. Harrison received a signed commendation from the inaugural Director of the JAIC, Lt. Gen Shanahan, for his collaboration work promoting AI in the DoD and the federal government. 

Dr. Harrison is currently working on developing an enterprise cybersecurity data feed and data management service for the US DoD. The service will be used to develop AI algorithms in the areas of intrusion detection and thwarting ransomware attacks. He received a signed commendation award from the Director of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) for his work on the cyber feed and data management service. Dr. Steven A. Harrison also won the prestigious 2021 CyberScoop 50 award in Cybersecurity Pioneering for his enterprise work in Cybersecurity and AI. He was also nominated for the 2020 Advancing AI and Data Analytics GITEC Emerging Technology Award for his enterprise service work.

Dr. Steven A. Harrison also has extensive experience in leading development and acquisition of Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) control systems for the US government. He was nominated by his division chief for a DISA acquisition award for successfully standing up a cloud-based DoD enterprise service for allocating MILSATCOM, the Joint SATCOM Management Enterprise (JSME). Dr. Harrison was the leader for successfully transitioning a DoD Capability Joint Technology Demonstration (JCTD) into a production DoD MILSATCOM Situational Awareness (SA) tool for the DoD. He received a commendation from the Department of State (DoS) for saving the taxpayer over $2M by repurposing DoD SATCOM assets. Further, Dr Harrison also received a commendation from the Director of DISA and the agency’s Chief of Staff on his founding visionary work on supporting USAFRICOM infrastructure. 

Dr. Harrison worked though his undergraduate studies at the National Bureau of Standards (now NIST) developing scientific software and participating in metallurgical experiments. He assisted in the NIST metallurgical analysis of the 1981 Hyatt Regency walkway collapse, train accidents, and initial acoustic research on stress corrosion cracking.
