This event is open to prospective students. Spaces are limited. Registration in advance is required.

Meet Our Faculty

Frank Turney

Frank E. Turney

Chair

Frank E. Turney serves as the Chair of the Aviation Department for Capitol Technology University. He holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Baltimore School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Loyola College of Maryland.

Mr. Turney holds the following ratings from the Federal Aviation Administration: Commercial Pilot License Single Engine and Multi Engine airplanes; Small unmanned aircraft remote pilot license; Flight Instructor Certificate for Single Engine and Multi Engine Airplanes; Instrument instructor rating and an Advanced Ground Instructor rating. He is also an attorney with experience in the aviation industry, primarily in the training and flight school environment.

Mr. Turney has extensive experience in flight training as an instructor, check pilot and manager of a flight operation based at Tipton Airport in Maryland. He also has experience in part 135 charter flying.

Mr. Turney belongs to the Society of Aviation and Flight Educators, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, Lawyer Pilots Bar Association and the Maryland State Bar Association.

Suzanne Hall Capitol Tech Faculty Profile

Suzanne Hall

Adjunct Professor

Sue hall is an adjunct professor with Capitol Technology University’s aviation program. Professor Hall has been involved in aviation for nearly 40 years. Her U.S. Air Force career spanned 26 years as an aircrew member and maintenance officer. Since retirement, she has been the administrator and co-manager of a flying club/school with 9 airplanes and over 70 active members. Her responsibilities included tracking aircraft maintenance, bringing on new members/students, working with instructors, finances, and monitoring the flying schedule to ensure optimum utilization of all aircraft.

Todd Raines

Todd Raines

Todd Raines is a senior Air Force civilian at US Cyber Command with expertise in planning and executing cyber operations. His first career was in conventional warfare; he retired after 21 years of flying F-4, F-15, and F-16 fighter aircraft for the Air Force. He also flew for United Airlines. In 2009, he answered a call to come to Fort Meade, Maryland, and help set up Cyber Command.

He has a Bachelor of Science in Astronautical Engineering from the US Air Force Academy, and a Master of Science in Cyber Security from National University. In addition to multiple overseas deployments as an Air Force fighter pilot, he has twice deployed to Afghanistan civilian in cyber warfare and leadership roles. He serves an Adjunct Professor at the National Cryptologic School at Fort Meade, where he teaches Adversary Cyber Methodologies. He also teaches Aviation Cyber Security as an Adjunct in the Masters program at Capitol Technology University, near Fort Meade. He enjoys teaching cyber security as an Adjunct because it helps keep him sharp for his day job, and because adult learners are just fun to teach.
