The Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Applied Artificial Intelligence (AI) program is designed for individuals with a foundational background in STEM fields who want to gain more specialized expertise in the practical applications of AI technologies. This intensive, hands-on program allows students to explore the foundations of AI theory and practice, equipping them with the skills necessary to tackle real-world problems using applied AI technology. This online certificate program is ideal for students seeking an introduction to the world of AI before pursuing a graduate degree, or professionals whose careers are evolving with the integration of AI, such as computer science, healthcare, finance, autonomous systems, and much more.
Program Focus
This program emphasizes the practical implementation of AI techniques to solve industry-specific challenges. Students will explore a wide range of AI applications, including predictive analytics and modeling, generative AI and algorithms, programming, knowledge representation and rule-based systems, fuzzy-logic systems, learning systems and neural networks, evolutionary computing, hybrid intelligent systems and agents, computer vision, deep learning, and data mining. The fundamentals of machine learning and big data analytics are also covered. The curriculum is designed to foster the development of both technical proficiency and strategic thinking, enabling graduates to implement AI solutions effectively in a variety of professional and research settings.

Students will have access to our AI Center of Excellence (AICE) and Capitol AI Learning & Innovation Environment (CAILIE) platform, developing AI solutions for applications like predictive analytics, automation, and personalization.
- Industry Collaboration: Students will have the opportunity to collaborate with industry partners, providing valuable exposure to real-world AI challenges and solutions through our AICE advisory board.
- Preparation for a Master's Degree: This micro-credential can fulfill 40% of the required courses for our Master of Science in Computer Science degree.
