This certificate provides students the foundation to write programs that support transactions conducted over the World Wide Web.
Students learn about the Web and the basic tools used for web page construction, including HTML, DHTML, scripting, CSS and an overview of XML. The database management course provides students with an understanding of relational databases, how they are designed, how data is stored in them, and how that data can be accessed. The final two courses, intermediate Java programming and Web/CGI programming using perl, provide students with the programming techniques and tools needed to create truly dynamic webpages.
