Mr. Joseph Kelly Brown, Jr. is the chairman and CEO of Template Software, Inc., a provider of advanced software products, custom solutions, and professional services with a focus on collaborative, data-driven decision support applications. Template has developed and fielded large, distributed, mission-critical software solutions including near real-time command and control, enterprise integration, process automation, sensor data fusion, and decision support.
Template’s object oriented SNAP product suite is designed for network centric operations, enabling shared information environments, developing common operational pictures, and integrating disparate data sources and legacy applications.
Mr. Brown co-founded EMSolutions in 2000. EMSolutions is an engineering firm that provides systems, network, and software engineering to U.S. Government clients. EMSolutions provides systems engineering, network engineering, software solutions development, and financial management consulting to government and commercial clients.
Mr. Brown has more than 36 years’ experience in advanced technology development, including enterprise software solutions, large-scale systems integration, information technology consulting, and weapons systems development. Prior to founding EMSolutions and Template, Mr. Brown spent eleven years managing the Government Operations Division of an advanced software product company. His work included the development and customization of enterprise integration, workflow, and business process software technology. Mr. Brown was selected as AFEI chairman in September 2006 and is also an NDIA board member. He serves on the board of trustees for Capitol Technology University and was previously the co-chair of the Innovation and Leadership Institute.
Mr. Brown was previously recognized as a Fellow of Capitol Technology University. Mr. Brown was recognized for his superior management of acquisition and logistics programs when he received the 1997 Secretary of Defense Superior Management Award. He holds an MS degree in technology management from American University and a BS degree in electronic engineering from Capitol College.
