Ana Sol Gutierrez

Ana Sol Gutierrez is the former Maryland’ District 18 in the state House of Delegates. She is the first Latina to be elected to the Maryland General Assembly. She is a member of the Appropriations Committee and has chaired the Delinquency Prevention and Diversion Services Task Force since 2006.
Outside of her political career, Guitierrez was director of quality management for Computer Sciences Corporation. She is also president and CEO for Sol Quality Systems, Inc. She has served as deputy administrator of the U.S Department of Transportation’s Research and Special Programs Administration (RSPA). Prior to accepting the RSPA position, Ms. Gutierrez was a senior consulting engineer for Computer Sciences Corporation in Rockville, Maryland. She also worked as a senior systems engineer at Loral Aerosys (formerly Ford Aerospace) from 1988 to 1992. From 1986 to 1988, Ms. Gutierrez was a senior associate in the Information Technology Center at Booz, Allen & Hamilton, Inc. She received a BS in Chemistry from Pennsylvania State University and a MS from American University in management technology and scientific and technical information systems.
