Find a Mentor

Recognizing the crucial role mentoring plays in higher education, the Office of Career Services has an exciting opportunity for Capitol students to be paired with working professionals in their chosen industry. The mentor program will focus on resources to guide students towards professional success.

We designed this program to allow our students to explore their chosen career field, to begin networking and making contacts within the industry, and to hear the wisdom and expertise that can only be gained through years of active experience in the field.  We also strive to provide our mentors with the opportunity to see the new and emerging trends and research in the field in which students are currently studying, the opportunity to give back to the community, and a chance to create a connection with future colleagues.

There are two tracks for this program, short-term and long-term mentorships.

  • Short-term matches are made anytime during the academic year
  • Long-term matches are only made once a year

For the 2018-2019 academic school year, long-term mentorship applications will be taken during the following time periods:

  • Student applications to become a mentee will be received between March 30th and April 20th for the full-year program, but will be accepted all year for the short term program.

Mentor applications will be due August 1st, 2018 for the full-year mentorship program and all year for the short term program.
