Annual Honors Convocation

Families and friends of Capitol students, along with esteemed faculty and staff members, will gather in the Arvum Gudelsky Memorial Auditorium on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at 3 p.m. for the annual Honors Convocation, held to recognize the hard work and academic achievements of the Capitol students within the past year.

Among the awards recognized will be dean’s list students, Space Operations Institute awards, scholarship recipients and several academic honor society awards. Last year, 37 students on the dean’s list, 14 Alpha Chi honor society inductees, 14 Space Operations Institute award recipients, and over 100 scholarship recipients were honored at the convocation for their continued commitment to excellence.

“With 80 percent of our students receiving financial aid and scholarships, it’s important to honor those scholarship recipients who represent our esteemed, academically talented student body,” says Dr. Michael Wood, Capitol’s president. “Taking the time to highlight their successes in such challenging times is a motivation for them and for everyone involved in their education.”

Hinz, the assistant division commander – Support, 29th Infantry Division.
