Capitol College will be hosting various events for National Engineers Week 2013, which starts on Sunday, Feb. 17 and concludes on Saturday, Feb. 23.
The highlight of Capitol’s activities will take place on Friday, Feb. 22 when the Emerging STEM Leaders Program and IEEE present Asst. Prof. Sandy Antunes for his presentation titled “How Much Damage Can You Do From Space.” The author of three books on the design, launch and orbit of picosatellites, Antunes will discuss amateur satellite launches and help students analyze the many aspects of picosatellites. The presentation will touch on launch risks, space pollution and re-entry. This event will take place in the lyceum from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
