Studying hard often leaves students hungry for some social interaction. Here at Capitol, you'll be able to get involved and connected right away...you don't have to feel like a little fish in a big pond.

There's a ton of things to do on campus: paint nights, barbecues, board game nights, haunted houses, overnight lock-ins, Zombie Week, outdoor games and fire pits, campus wide team competitions, movies, and so much more. So don't be afraid to get involved and have fun - you've earned it!

Don't see a club that suits your interests? Start one yourself! It's easy - get five friends who are interested in starting the organization. Then, contact the Student Life office at Capitol Tech to discuss your idea and find faculty/staff advisors.

The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is the largest nonprofit educational and service organization representing student and professional women in engineering and technical fields. Its mission is to empower women to achieve their full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expand the image of the engineering and technology professions as a positive force in improving the quality of life, and demonstrate the value of diversity and inclusion.

The Student Leadership Advisory Board (S-LAB) is the combination of a campus programming board and a student government. If you like planning large events, or just want to advocate for initiatives on campus, S-LAB may be for you! Members are responsible for many of the programs you see happening around campus, such as Zombie Week, lock-ins, finals week events, and more!

From painting to poetry to all things artistic, Creative Juices is an organization that appreciates the finer things. They host weekly Paint and Sip nights and other artsy events, as well as a yearly tradition of attending the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C. No matter your level of artistry, Creative Juices is always looking for new, creative minds to join their ranks.

Competitive Activities

Chargers Esports provides a fun and encouraging environment for both casual and competitive student gamers to build their teamwork and communication skills, make new friends, and relieve stress outside of the classroom. Email Esports at Capitol Tech for more info or just stop by the arena weekdays from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. or weekends from 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.!

Do you dream of thwarting digital criminals and stopping acts of online malice? Capitol’s accomplished cyber battle team, Signal-9, is the perfect place to practice doing just that. The team is composed of students with various skill levels and specializations who regularly compete in virtual and in-person competitions both locally and out-of-town. Honor Societies

The Maryland Beta Chapter represents Alpha Chi National Honor Society at Capitol Technology University. Members are chosen from those ranking in the top 10 percent of the junior and senior classes based on academic performance, service to the college and good character. Members are elected twice annually and are inducted during the fall honors convocation and in the spring at a special induction ceremony.
Sigma Beta Delta was founded in 1994 as the International Honor Society in Business, Management and Administration. The honor society was established to encourage and recognize scholarship and accomplishment among students in the above named fields, and to encourage and promote aspirations toward personal and professional improvement and a life distinguished by honorable service to humankind.
Upsilon Pi Epsilon is an honorary society whose membership consists of outstanding undergraduate and graduate students in Computing and Information Disciplines. Only schools that offer a degree in a computing science-related discipline may be chartered. Likewise, prospective student members must be working toward a degree in Computing and Information Disciplines at the time they are considered for membership. Yet members are chosen not only for their scholastic achievement in a computing science program, but also for distinguishing themselves as true professionals by meeting the standards of the society.

Membership is limited to those who can effectively achieve the original goals of the society.Upsilon Pi Epsilon (UPE) was first organized at Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, in 1967. The international organization now consists of chapters in various colleges and universities in North America and overseas.
