Teaching at Capitol since:2008
Why did you first become a professor?I wanted to give back to the college and the Information Assurance community.
What is your favorite part about teaching?I would say when I grade the exam or essay of a student that shows that he or she really understands the material.
Why Capitol? What makes it different? The one thing that really makes Capitol different is that nearly all of our IA instructors have worked in the IA career field. There is no substitute for experience!
How has your career prior to teaching affected your teaching? How important has your experience been?My career has given me practical knowledge of what it takes to work in the field, and as a result I am able to emphasize the material that really matters in the real world.
What is your proudest professional or academic achievement? My proudest academic achievement is by far the completion of the MSIA.
What are your hobbies/interests outside of work? What is something your students might not know about you?My hobbies outside of teaching include coaching youth hockey, playing hockey, security research and beer making.
